We are proud to present this activity report to our supporters. Here are some examples of our work during the last year:

promoting fodder production in Somalia (p. 17)

Livestock and agriculture, the livelihoods of Somalia, were severely damaged by a prolonged drought in 2016/2017. In order to restore the livelihoods of the affected people in a sustainable manner, we have worked together with agronomists and veterinary technicians on an interdisciplinary basis. Last year, for example, we were able to support more than 1,200 households with our know-how on resistant forage crops.

Expansion of our activities to the Ivory Coast (p.20)

The project in Mali to establish a milk-value-chain has proved extremely valuable to the population since its formation more than 10 years ago. Since February 2019, VSF-Suisse has been active in a new project country, the Ivory Coast. Also in the Ivory Coast we want to use the same approach to promote the local dairy industry, improve food safety and increase the income of local livestock farmers.

Record proceeds from our annual “Vaccinate for Africa” campaign (p.28)

The year 2019 was also a great success regarding our annual “Vaccinate for Africa” campaign. With a total of 90 participating veterinary practices, 47,000 francs in donations were collected from all over Switzerland. This is a new record for VSF-Suisse! A huge thanks goes to all participants!

We would like to thank all our employees and supporters for everything they have contributed to our work and hope that we have been able to give you interesting insights into our activities!
