After the VSF-Suisse General Assembly could only take place online for the past two years, we were finally able to welcome our members in person again this year. On Saturday, July 18, 2022, we met at the National Horse Center (NPZ) in Bern. After the welcome by the president of the association, Prof. Ueli Kihm, Executive Director Nicole Litschgi presented the highlights of our work of the past year to those present.
Then it was time for the farewell of an old and the election of a new board member. We would like to thank Simone Hofer Frei for her commitment over the last five years. And we congratulate the new board member Dr. Gregor Schmid on his unanimous election and look forward to working with him!
Afterwards, Sara Imbach, Programme Manager East Africa, and Esther Schelling, Director of Programmes, shed light on the current drought and the associated precarious food situation in the Horn of Africa.
The official program ended with a driving event with horse-drawn carriages commented by Werner Ulrich, Head of Rides at the NPZ. Afterwards we all ended this beautiful day together with Ethiopian food.
