On Saturday, June 14, VSF-Suisse held its annual General Assembly at the agricultural campus Inforama near Bern. The Members gathered to hear about the achievements of the past year and our future endeavours. The Assembly concluded with a shared lunch, informal exchanges, and a visit to the Inforama fish farm.
The Executive Management Team presented key updates on our financial situation, organizational development, project highlights, and our new Global Strategy 2025–2028. Members unanimously approved the 2024 Annual Report and the financial report. Gregor Schmid, a member of the board, shared his insights from the recent Senior Management Meeting in Kenya, including project visits and the Jubilee celebration.
The Assembly also included the election of a new board member, Dr. Barbara Wieland, a veterinarian with extensive international experience in research, development cooperation, and veterinary epidemiology. Dr. Wieland brings deep expertise in combating epizootics and zoonoses. She is currently head of the Institute of Virology and Immunology at the University of Bern. We are very happy to welcome her to the board and look forward to her contributions to our mission!
